Day 1. Arrival in Halmstad
You can easily travel to Halmstad by train or plane from most sites in Southern Sweden and/or Copenhagen (Denmark). Your first accommodation is centrally located and you can stroll on your own to discover the city highlights. If you take a walk along the Nissan River, you pass the beautiful city library, which has been shaped by the trees that still stand around. For those interested in comic books, the 91 Karlsson is depicted as a statue outside the Air Defense Museum. After dinner you may end the evening with a trip up Galgberget, today this is a lookout point but long ago executions took place in this place.
Day 2. Halmstad - Möllegård, transfer to Steninge (18km; 5hrs; +145m/-135m)
After breakfast head for the Halmstad Castle where you will find the starting point for Prince Bertil's well-known walking path by Nissan River. Named in memory of the Duke of Halland, Prince Bertils stig is an 18 km long stretch that will introduce you to some of the loveliest spots in the city of Halmstad. This largely coastal path – complete with lovely sandy beaches, small harbours, cliffs, and old stone quarries – runs from central Halmstad towards Tylösand and on to the lush Möllegård nature reserve. Here in Möllegård there is the opportunity to grab a drink or eat an ice cream from Riccardo's well-known ice cream factory while waiting for the transfer vehicle that picks you up for a transfer to Steninge, where you will spend the night.
Day 3. Steninge circuit (9km; 3hrs; +160m/-160m)
Pass through the peaceful residential area of Steninge and dip into a mighty oak forest with several great opportunities to have coffee or eat your packed lunch. Here at Skipåsen you have a fantastic view of the sea. The area you walk through is set aside to preserve a piece of forest land with high natural values. Further ahead you enter the Skipås nature reserve where you follow a marked path through the oak forest. The forest trail is soon followed by an open track through vast farmland, going all the way to the sea. Follow the coast to the south with great opportunities for stops to enjoy the sea and the local bird life. The hike ends at the beach of Steninge and shortly afterwards - at your accommodation. Why not end the day with a sauna before dinner?

After an early breakfast, board a transfer for Rydöbruk (45min). There you will be dropped off at the Lahult's old mill and pond. From here you start your hike along the Hallandsleden. The hiking trail takes you uphill along a quiet country road past farms and forests. Small lakes and playful streams appear now and then too. The hike ends in Knallhult, where you stay overnight. The accommodation is an old farm that has been converted with great care into a nice guest house right in the middle of the Halland forest.
Day 5. Knallhult – Skallinge (18km; 5hrs; +220m/-280m)
After a hearty breakfast, re-join the Hallandsleden. The walking trail today goes into an old spruce forest, which was once inhabited. The trail is lined with old stone farms. The feeling of wilderness while you walk through the forest, ends at Lurehus - a small goose cottage with a turf roof from the 19th century. Eventually you arrive in Skallinge. You spend the night in an old school, turned nowadays into a charming Bed&Breakfast.
Day 6. Skallinge – Simlångsdalen (14km; 4hrs; +100m/-120m)

Your final point for the day is Simlångsdalen which is nicely located by the shores of Brearedssjön Lake, surrounded by nice Beech forest and several shorter hiking trails. Overnight in Simlångsdalen. Simlångsdalen was previously one of the stations along Halmstad Bolmen Railway, which was in operation from 1889 to 1966. The railway has since been converted into a pedestrian walkway and bicycle path.
Day 7. Simlångsdalen – Ulvered (14km; 4hrs; +235m/-150m)

The waterfall, which is the main attraction here, has a drop of about 35 meters. According to a legend, the waterfall got its name in 1676 when a group of Danish soldiers fled from Swedish troops. When the Danes reached the suspension bridge over the waterfall, the Swedes cut off the brackets of the bridge and the Danes fell into the waterfall. The trail takes you further through Beech forest to the next nature reserve - Gårdshult. Here the landscape opens up as the trail goes through meadows and farms, later on followed again by forests and bogs. At the end of the hike you will arrive in Ulvered.
