Day 1. Arrival at Bled
Your self-guided walking tour starts in Bled, home to one of the most famous natural sites in Slovenia. Enjoy the beautiful Lake Bled and the only island in Slovenia with its charming pilgrim church overlooking the Bled Castle and the imposing Karawanken and Julian Alps mountain ranges in the background. You will have an introductory briefing with our representative and the afternoon free to walk around and contemplate the marvelous view.
Day 2. Lake Bled and Vintgar Gorge (10km, 3-4hrs, +100m/-100m)
Today’s section of the independent walking tour will take you to the magnificent Vintgar Gorge with its beautiful green waters accessible via peculiar wooden bridges and stairs. Walk along the 1,8km long gorge carved between the Hom and Boršt hills all the way to the stunning 16-meter high Šum Waterfall. Enjoy the easy circular route through the charming Podhom and Zasip villages and get a glimpse of rural Slovenia. You have the option to go on a self-guided cycling tour around Bled in the afternoon.
Day 3. Triglav Lakes valley (14km, 7hrs, +1035/-1035m)
After breakfast, an organized private transfer will take you to Lake Bohinj where the starting point for today’s self-guided hiking route to the Triglav Lakes Valley will be. Follow the trail across the Komarča hillside towards the Black Lake (Črno jezero), the southernmost and last of the lakes in the valley. The surrounding pine woods reflected in the waters of the lake give its distinctive black color. Continue towards the Double Lake (Dvojno jezero) and enjoy a well-deserved break at its enchanting mountain hut. Retrace your steps back to the starting point. You can have another short hike (around 20 minutes from the starting point) to the famous Savica waterfall (78m) before your driver takes you back to Bled.
Day 4. Transfer to Bovec (via Vršič mountain pass) (12km, 5-6hrs, +750m/-750m)
After breakfast, you bid Bled farewell and continue to the beautiful town of Kranjska Gora where you will be taken via an organized private transfer. You will make a short stop to visit the breathtaking Lake Jasna. Another viewpoint along the way is as the top of the mountain pass (1611m) where you will have the opportunity to take a short walk to the peculiar rocky face of the famous Heathen Maiden (Ajdovska deklica). You have a couple of options for the afternoon. Option 1: Go White Water rafting on the Soča river or Option 2: Follow an easy self-guided walking route to the beautiful alpine Krn Lake.
Day 5. Mt. Svinjak (1653 m) OR relaxing/white-water rafting day by the river Soča (10km, 6hrs, +1180m/-1180m)
Today you can choose between enjoying a relaxing day off in Bovec or an independent walking trip to ‘the Matterhorn of Bovec’ - Mt. Svinjak (1653m). The ascend to the rocky peak is as challenging as it is rewarding. You will enjoy great panoramas over the river Soča and the imposing rocky peaks of the Julian Alps. A hiking trail of moderate difficulty will lead you through a forest, over the ridge and steeply ascend to the peak.
Day 6. Walk the beautiful Soča trail (21km, 6-7hrs, +0m/-430m)
An organized transfer after breakfast will take you to the hut at the spring of river Soča at the starting point of the Soča trail. It is considered to be one of the most beautiful karst springs in the Julian Alps. Continue walking along the river, crossing the river on wooden footbridges from time to time until you reach another unique natural phenomenon - The Big Troughs of the Soča (Velika korita Soče).
Day 7. Transfer from Bovec to Ljubljana with optional stop to visit Postojna Cave and Predjama Castle
After a healthy breakfast, a private transfer will take you to Ljubljana. You have the option to visit the magnificent Postojna Cave and the enchanting Predjama Castle - the largest cave castle in the world. Do not miss to explore the old town of Ljubljana in the afternoon and take a stroll along the Ljubljanica river.
Day 8. Departure day
A private transfer to Ljubljana Airport.

Best travel period: June-September. Node train is available around the lake of Bled, which you could also explore on foot or by bike (payable locally). A white-water rafting tour from Bovec costs around 50 Euros/person (need to get your own swimming suit and towel (return transfers, all necessary equipment and guide are included; should be pre-booked at least a few days in advance). Postojna Cave is very famous and loads of touring groups occupy some of the time slots for cave visits. Pre-booking a visit for a certain time slot is highly recommended. Our local partners can advise the best time (hour) for such visit, which will be scheduled with the rest transfers you will have this same day (also to Predjama Castle and then to Ljubljana).
