Day 1: Arrival in Begur
Plan your arrival at Girona Airport/Centre or Figueres Vilafant Train Station (if traveling from Barcelona). A driver will meet you and transfer you to Begur where your first accommodation is located (and where the official Cami de Ronda trail ends/starts). Do not miss the opportunity to explore Begur and its enchanting blend of architectural treasures. Stroll among the myriad colonial-style houses, and lose yourself in the labyrinthine narrow streets and alleys of the historic old town. The enduring presence of the fishermen's huts nestled in the coves speaks volumes of a storied past, a tapestry woven with the threads of pirates, sailors, coral gatherers, fishermen, and generations of Begur's townspeople. Make sure you visit the medieval castle that proudly surveys the town. From its lofty vantage point, it offers an awe-inspiring panorama of the region, serving as a splendid starting point for your Catalan adventure.

Day 2: Begur - Sa Tuna - Begur (10km; 3hrs; +330m/-330m)
A captivating self-guided walking route awaits today, tracing a picturesque circular path that unveils the scenic beauty of Sa Tuna and Cala d’Aiquafreda. These charming destinations are tucked away in idyllic bays, where pristine beaches beckon, embraced by the serenity of lush pine trees.
3
Day 3: Begur – LLafranc (14km; 4hrs; +390m/-390m)

After a hearty breakfast you bid Begur goodbye and follow the independent walking route past the charming seaside village of Tamariu with its amazing sandy beach and around La Musclera Headland and the bay of Cala Pedrosa until you reach the highlight of today’s walk, the San Sebastián lighthouse and its mesmerizing views over the Mediterranean and the Pyrenees. Your final destination is the charming white-washed town of Llafranc. This picturesque coastal village, adorned in glistening white, held a magnetic pull for film stars and creative minds, among them Salvador Dalí, during the 20th century. The fishermen's cottages, accompanied by charming boat houses along the beach, gracefully curve around the coves, casting an irresistible spell upon all who behold them.

Day 4: Llafranc - Calella de Palafrugell (10km; 3hrs; +190m/-190m)
Today you will be hiking inland, passing the iconic historic market town of Palafrugell (the market is every day apart from Mondays). Once a cork-producing hub, this town has undergone a remarkable transition into a thriving tourist hotspot, ideal for both couples and families. Palafrugell seamlessly melds culture and commerce, boasting a charming pedestrian zone that invites leisurely strolls along historic walls and an iconic church. Abundant dining, entertainment, shopping, and museum options await. Your next stop is the captivating seaside enclave of Calella de Palafrugell. This radiant town sprawls along a collection of pristine sandy coves, adorned with pink-hued rocks. Fishing boats gently rest on the sun-kissed shores, while pastel-hued buildings form archways under which cafés and restaurants beckon. Earning its accolades as one of Spain's most alluring coastal retreats in various publications, Calella de Palafrugell's undeniable charm may make leaving a challenge. As echoed by many satisfied customers at the tour's conclusion, the allure is so strong that planning a swift return becomes an enticing idea.

Day 5: Calella de Palafrugell (free day)
Today you will have free time to spend however you find best. You can spend some time on the beach, go snorkeling or even visit the botanic gardens at Cap Roig following the coastal promenade along the official Cami de Ronda trail. In 1927, Colonel Woevodsky and Dorothy Webster acquired this Cap Roig estate, initiating the construction of a castle and park, a project that extended until 1974. The garden cascades in terraces from the castle to the sea, with the initial tiers (Nuns’ Terraces, El Bassin Terrace, Lovers’ Garden) connected by the distinctive Cypresses Staircase. Paths continue gently toward the coast, housing the Spring Garden, Cactus Garden, and Geranium Walk, each showcasing vibrant flowering seasons.

Day 6: Calella de Palafrugell - La Fosca/Palamós (10km; 3hrs; +280m/-280m)
Reluctantly bidding farewell to Calella de Palafrugell, your self-guided walking route continues along a breathtaking coastal path, revealing numerous hidden coves. Venturing inland, you'll traverse fields and hills adorned with pine, olive, and oak trees, passing by the sheltered fishing village of S’Alguer. Your destination is La Fosca, a charming seaside village/urban area with a delightful sandy beach, providing an inviting opportunity for a refreshing swim.
7
Day 7: La Fosca - S’Agaró (18km; 4,30hrs; +290m/-290m + option to reduce the mileage to 11km)
Leaving La Fosca, you journey towards Palamós, strolling along its promenade before embarking on the scenic Cami de Ronda coastal path. Along this picturesque route, Spain's Mediterranean coastline glistens on your left, while pine-covered hills grace your right. You'll pass by Playa de Aro's harbor and traverse the sandy expanse of Sa Cuenca Bay, ultimately arriving at your final destination, S’Agaró. This elegant resort town, once frequented by Hollywood stars of yesteryears, exudes timeless charm and sophistication. Originally a private enclave, S’Agaró now extends its welcome to all seeking a weekend retreat. Notable attractions include the beachside walkway, adorned with significant architecture, and the must-visit Sant Pol Beach. For a shorter route of 6-7km, consider a taxi ride from your lodging to Palamós promenade's end (appr. 30 EUR).
