Day 1: Arrival in Vigo di Fassa
Your self-guided walking holiday in the Dolomites commences in mountainside village Vigo di Fassa situated in the center of the valley and at the foot of the Catinaccio massif. It is considered one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Take the time to submerge in the extraordinary atmosphere and enjoy the unbelievable beauty of the surrounding landscape. The unique language you will hear the locals speak is Ladinic. The local  Ladin Museum is a modern building, housing the ethnographic collections of the Ladin Cultural Institute. You can also pay a visit to the Monzoni Mineralogical Museum, home to one of the largest collections of Dolomite minerals.
* Easiest arrival via Innsbruck or Verona airports (Milano Airport is an option too, though more distant), followed by a train ride to Bolzano (or Trento and Ora-Auer) (timetable on www.trenitalia.it). From Bolzano there are frequent direct buses to Vigo de Fassa (1,15hrs journey;  https://www.suedtirolmobil.info/en)

Day 2. Several options to choose from for the next three days (Days 2, 3 & 4)
OPTION A: Lake Carezza to Moena (11km; 3hrs; +230m/-560m): Take a local bus to the legendary Carezza Lake and embark on a stunning independent walk through fragrant spruce forests and open meadows. This scenic hiking route links the lake's famous turquoise waters with the charming village of Moena, the "Fairy of the Dolomites." You'll enjoy gentle alpine slopes and continuous views of the majestic Latemar and Catinaccio groups. OPTION B: The Classic Catinaccio Hike to Gardeccia (6km; 2hrs; +50m/-50m): Take the cable car from Vigo di Fassa to begin a relatively easy but spectacular hike into the renowned Rosengarten (Catinaccio) range. This comfortable walking trail winds up through larch forests to the Gardeccia basin—a perfect alpine meadow surrounded by welcoming mountain huts—offering impressive views of the jagged Vajolet Towers and other unforgettable Dolomite peaks. OPTION D: Val Dona (7km; 4hrs; +700m/-700m): Starting in Fontanazzo, this peaceful walk leads into the serene Val Dona, a hidden gem of the Dolomites. Why Google Reviews matter more than website-collected reviews?

We are committed to absolute transparency and exclusively use our Google Business Profile for all customer reviews. In contrast, some competitors collect reviews directly on their websites. While these self-hosted reviews can appear informative, they are vulnerable to manipulation - they can be easily modified, deleted (if too negative), or even written internally by staff (a task made simpler than ever with modern AI tools). By relying solely on the trusted, third-party platform of Google, we offer a guarantee that your feedback is genuine and completely unbiased. We have no ability to influence or alter the words of our past customers; our access is limited strictly to responding. This ensures the integrity of every review you read and builds the trust you deserve.
