All trails foreseen for this self-guided walking tour are well-marked and of various difficulty, grades to suit every taste. The High Tatra National Park is the largest natural reserve in Slovakia and is a place of challenging hikes and amazing views of beautiful high mountain landscapes. The Mala Fatra National Park is home to interesting limestone formations and a wonderful combination of gorges, exciting ridge walking, and rural landscapes. The Slovak Paradise (Slovensky Raj) national park is the most famous hiking spot in Slovakia. The enchanting wooden routes around the scenic gorges of the park will mesmerize you.

Day 1. Arrival in Zilina and transfer to Terchova village
Individual arrival to Mala Fatra National Park (Zilina railway station). Your accommodation will be in the traditional Terchova village (private transfer from Zilina is included) - the birthplace of the Slovak legendary hero Janosik. Our representative will meet you for your tour introduction.

Day 2. Terchova - Dolne Diery - Velky Rozsutec - Vratna - Stefanova (13km, 4-5hrs, +950m/-800m)
Terchova is wonderfully located and a starting point for numerous walking trails in the Mala Fatra Mountains. Your self-guided hiking tour begins with the wonderful Dolne Diery and Horne Diery gorges, the Mala Fatra ridge, and the picturesque Velky Rozsutec peak.

Day 3. Terchova - Vratna - Snilovske saddle - Velky Krivan and back (7km, 6hrs, +950m/-950m)
Today’s section of the independent walking route is particularly picturesque. You will attempt to conquer the highest peak of Mala Fatra Mountains - Velky Krivan peak (1709m), which allows also an easy access using the local lift. Enjoy the spectacular panorama from the top of the mountain. You will be transferred to the High Tatras National Park in the evening (the transfer is included in your package). The overnights will be in Strbske Pleso where you will enjoy wonderful views of the High Tatras Mountains.

Day 4. Strbske Pleso - Popradske Pleso - Zabie lakes - Mt. Rysy and back (7hrs, 20km, +1150m/-1150m)
Today you will attempt to conquer another great peak - the famous Rysy (2500m) located on the border between Slovakia and Poland. Enjoy the stunning views of the High Tatras.

Day 5. Strbske Pleso - Waterfall Skok - Mlynicka valley - Furkotska valley - Strbske Pleso (circular) (14km, 6hrs, +950m/-950m)
Another day of independent walking dedicated to the High Tatras. You will have the option to choose from various routes. You can hike the Krivan Peak or explore two beautiful valleys in one day. Explore the Skok waterfall, the highest in the Tatras and enjoy the view of the Krivan Peak, Strbsky Peak and several mountain lakes in the Mlynicka and Furkotska valley from there. Later that evening you will be transferred to the Slovak Paradise National Park. Your overnights there will be in Podlesok (Hrabusice village).

Day 6. Podlesok - Prielom Hornadu - Klastorna ravine - Klastorisko and back (circular) (6hrs, 12km, +300m/-300m)
Slovak Paradise is a fairytale come to life. Enjoy following the independent walking trails over peculiar wooden and iron ladders, chains, steps and footbridges and gasp in wonder as you explore beautiful canyons, playful streams, and towering waterfalls.

Day 7. Podlesok - Sucha Bela gorge - and back (circular) (13km, 5hrs,+400m/-400m)
Even though this is your departure day, you have time for some more self-guided walking. We have left the most enchanting ravine of the park for last - the wonderful and romantic Sucha Bela. An afternoon transfer will take you to the Poprad railways station. It is about 6 hours by train to Bratislava, so we suggest you board a train no later than 15:30 (please reconfirm the train schedule). Overnight in Bratislava on own arrangements (not included!).

Tips
