Today you will face the serenity of Mount Vrmac - standing as a barrier between the inner (Bay of Kotor) and outer bay (Bay of Tivat). Most walks start from the zig-zag trail named after Austrian emperor Franz-Josef (in local language: Franjo Josip) and climb up to the mighty fortress "Vermac" built in 1892 - an architectural heritage left from the Austro-Hungarian empire, used as a naval base during WW1. From there you will follow the mountain ridge to reach the highest point of Vrmac, Sveti Ilija (765 m). Time to get down a bit, following an old shepherd's trail to the village of Donji Stoliv. You can finally enjoy a coffee looking at the calm salty waters of the bay.

Another independent trekking tour on the top of the mountain! You start from Orahovac village located at the northern side of the bay of Kotor, from where you follow another winding path through the green woods which will lead you to a village Stepen. Yet one more mark of the Austro-Hungarian presence on these lands will show up in the face of Vranovo Brdo fortress. You will reach it after you go up on the backside of the hill of village Stepen. From there, a military road will take you down to the small town of Perast. From there you can take a boat to visit the famous island with church Gospa od Skrpjela (our Lady of the Rock). Once finished there you will proceed by boat to Tivat and then get a transfer back to Kotor.

Day 4. The Ladder of Kotor (11km, 4.30hrs, +950m/-100m)
After breakfast you will start the hike from the old town of Kotor and follow an old trade route which once connected Cetinje (the old capital of Montenegro) with Kotor! This old horse trail where even billiard tables were transported, has more than 70 detours to the pass and offers countless impressive views towards the bay. Today the hiking merits of the trek will be combined with gastronomic ones after you reach the village of Njegusi where you can taste the local Njegusi ham and cheese. Transfer and overnight at Lovcen National Park.
