Ordesa y Monte Perdido National Park, Pyrenees

€1230 per person

To the north of Huesca, in the Aragon region of the Spanish Pyrenees, aficionados of high mountains will enjoy a unique national park: Ordesa y Monte Perdido. Consisting of four valleys (Añisclo, Escueta, Ordesa and Picuaín) and one peak (Monte Perdido – 3355m, the third highest in the Pyrenees), it unfolds like a scene from a film, where different ecosystems flourish together. A natural paradise for true hikers, where you can explore spectacular walking trails, meadows, enormous forests, incredible gorges, glaciers, wild waterfalls, and admire the unique limestone world, formed over millions of years. These fabulous landscapes with impressive mountains organized around immense canyons that some claim aesthetically rival those of Colorado, were designated as a National Park almost a century ago! Ordesa is without a doubt one of the most extraordinary natural wonders of Europe, and a perfect area for self-guided hiking holidays.

Transfer to your hotel at Nerín (2,30hrs), where you will depart for your first exploration of the park on foot. As you begin the ascent, the gentle and gradual climb will lead you across rocky terrain with curious rock formations (lapies) and suddenly, the entire Monte Perdido massif will unfold right in front of your eyes. The highest point of Pico Mondoto (1953m), which rises like a wave on the rim of the Añisclo Canyon, is towering about 1000m above the Bellos River…impressive!

Day 3: Nerin - Anisclo Canyon and waterfalls - Nerin (11km; 4,30hrs; +380m/-380m)
Your next walking day starts again from Nerin. A hiking trail deep into the heart of the Añisclo Canyon will reveal a true cascade of green hues provided by the forest, which climbs the immense ledges and cliffs towering over the deep gorges where crystal-clear waters flow from Mount Perdu. The furious waterfalls have carved deep natural pools, varying in shades from jade green to intense emerald. In hot days you can get really refreshed there. Return and overnight in Nerin.

Day 4: Nerin - Canyon d'Arrazas - Torla (18km; 5-5,30hrs; +400m/-1200m or rest day/skip the walk)
An early morning transfer (1hr) with the shuttle (no cars allowed!) from Nerin to Ciarracils will bring you near the edge of Cuello Gordo which opens out to the Arrazas Canyon. The landscapes with great views of the National Park of Ordesa and Monte Perdido are breathtaking! Walk along a balcony path before continuing towards the Cola de Caballo waterfall and then returning into the heart of this immense canyon. You will reach the Grados de Soaso (a succession of small cascades in steps) which you will follow through the high grasslands, gradually entering the forest. The hiking trail continues to the bottom of the canyon and the Pradera d'Ordesa. For those who prefer a more challenging option, there is the possibility of passing by the Faja Pelay which offers a magnificent walk, overlooking the bottom of the canyon and opening up views across to the other side, taking in the Cotatuero Cirque. The scenery is just fabulous! Transfer to Torla (20min drive) for overnight (3x nights).
*You can also skip today's walk if it seems too challenging, and travel with the luggage to your next accommodation.
**If you booked the tour option with your own car, we will organize a transfer from Torla back to Nerin for the car driver to get the car and bring it back to Torla.

You will leave behind this superb scenery for that of the Faja Racón - a beautiful balcony walk that skirts the foot of immense rock while overlooking steep forests of pine trees and lawns. Behind you, the ramparts of Mount Tobacor impose their grandeur and power. Once you reach the Salaron Cirque where the breathtaking cliffs of Tozal del Mallo are just as spectacular, you will start the descent to the Pradera d'Ordesa. Transfer back to Torla (20min drive).

Day 6: Torla - Collado de Cebollar - Torla (20km; 6,30-7hrs; +1050m/-1050m + shorter options!)
This long circle walk starts from your hotel, brings you first to the hidden Bujaruelo Valley and then takes you to the Collado del Cebollar. You are not in the heart of Ordesa and the canyons anymore, but it’s one of the best viewpoints to appreciate its full depth and magnitude and it offers a fantastic panorama of the Arrazas Canyon. There is an option to cut the mileage short by taking the shuttle (July/August) and get off at Puente de los Navarros, or order and pay for a local taxi for that rather short transfer (June/September). Additionally there is a second very easy and short alternative for the day: a walk from Pradera Ordesa Parking to Torla on the GR11 (2hrs, +0m/-270m; 20min transfer time).

Why Google Reviews matter more than website-collected reviews?

We are committed to absolute transparency and exclusively use our Google Business Profile for all customer reviews. In contrast, some competitors collect reviews directly on their websites. While these self-hosted reviews can appear informative, they are vulnerable to manipulation - they can be easily modified, deleted (if too negative), or even written internally by staff (a task made simpler than ever with modern AI tools). By relying solely on the trusted, third-party platform of Google, we offer a guarantee that your feedback is genuine and completely unbiased. We have no ability to influence or alter the words of our past customers; our access is limited strictly to responding.
