After breakfast, a short transfer will take you to Predigstuhl which will be your starting point for the walking tour. You will walk through alpine pastures ringed by amazing summits deeply into the Ausseerland area. Today’s hike offers great opportunities to have a nice rest at an unbelievable place. The alpine pasture Hütteneckalm invites you to sit back and enjoy the impressive panorama of the Hallstatt Dachstein UNESCO World Heritage cultural landscape. You will spend the night at the charming village of Altaussee and sink in the atmosphere the numerous painters create.

Today you will walk alongside lake Altaussee and enjoy the view towards the Loser mountain. Your next stop will be Gößl by lake Grundlsee which will be your reward after crossing the Tressen saddle. You will have the option to visit lake Toplitzsee where legend has it, there is treasure still hidden in its waters. Another fun option for the afternoon is renting a wooden traditional boat.

Today’s independent hiking route will take you out of the valley to Ödernalm. Your goal is to reach Tauplitzalm, which is located on a high plateau. Along the way you will walk along a stream to an alluvial area, ascent over the Törl, and enjoy a charming lake.

The Tauplitzalm is a place with a wide variety of walking trails. The so-called ‘Six-lake walk’ will take you on a journey through amazing viewpoints and hidden mountain ponds. Another option you will have is to climb one of the many peaks of the Tote Gebirge mountain range. The area is famous for its large variety of fauna and flora ranging from the snow roses to gentian to alpine rose flowers (and the elusive chamois among them).

On your last day of this self-guided walking tour, you walk past the lake Steirersee to the lake Schwarzensee. Enjoy the narcissus fields on your way down to Tauplitz. From there, you are to go back to Bad Goisern by train.
